About UsAt first, McNellis Partners specialized in the construction of new shopping centers in Northern California. While continuing that tradition the partnership added a second major emphasis in 1994the renovation of well-located older shopping centers and retail buildingsand has since focused on both areas of expertise. Since its formation, the company has developed 47 projectsall in Northern Californiaincluding 36 shopping centers totaling about three and half million square feet. Today, McNellis Partners' preferred projects are the development of raw land from five to forty acres and the redevelopment of older retail centers ranging from 50,000 to 400,000 square feet in size. The partnership also undertakes mixed use and office projects. While seldom investing with outside financial partners, McNellis Partners does enter into partnerships with retail tenants (notably Safeway Stores, Inc. and Ross-Dress-For-Less) and individual property owners in need of financial aid or development expertise. McNellis Partners manages its own properties, numerous shopping centers for Save-Mart, a center for Ralph's and a number of commercial properties for other institutions and individual owners. All of the properties owned or managed by the partnership are located in Northern California. John McNellis
