A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Hastings College of The Law, John co-founded McNellis Partners in 1982.
John serves on the national Board of Trustees for the Urban Land Institute, is also a Governor of the ULI and a member of the ICSC. He sits on the national Board of Directors for Outward Bound USA and the board of directors of Rebuilding Together Peninsula. He is a former board member of Lambda Alpha International (Golden Gate Chapter) and the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center.
He is a monthly columnist for the Registry Magazine and, on occasion, lectures for the ULI and the ICSC.
Beth Walter is a co-founding partner of McNellis Partners and operates the partnership's Sacramento office, handling the company's property management staff and operations. She also oversees new construction projects. Her extensive retail center management experience began in 1976 with the Ernest W. Hahn Company. She has earned a Certified Shopping Center Manager designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has served as the ICSC's Northern California State Director, Divisional Operations Chair, State Divisional Operations Chair, and its State Public Relations and Community Service Chair.
Beth is an active community advocate, serving twice as president of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of the California Capital Air Show.
Beth is currently president of the Rancho Cordova Rotary Club and 2010 Chairman of the Association for Frontotemporal Dementias (AFTD), a national non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, PA. She is also founder of the Walter Charitable Fund, Inc., a family based nonprofit organization formed to raise funds for medical research.
Mike Powers has served as the company’s CFO since joining McNellis Partners in 1984. In addition to overseeing McNellis’ operations and finances, his responsibilities include managing all investment, sale and financial transactions. Prior to joining McNellis, he was an investment banker with Warburg Paribas Becker.
Mike is a member of the Small Scale Development Council (SSDC) of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Lambda Alpha International's Golden Gate Chapter and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In addition to having served as part of SSDC’s leadership team, he regularly teaches real estate development classes for the ULI's Real Estate School and has been a repeated guest lecturer for Wells Fargo Bank's Wholesale University.
Mike holds a MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics/Political Science from Claremont McKenna College.
